Glacial Lake Missoula

Glacial Lake Missoula

About the Winery

The Glacial Lake Missoula Wine Co. is located just south of the Canadian border in Blaine, Washington. We source our high quality, low-yield, handpicked grapes from Kestrel View Estate vineyard in the Yakima Valley. Annual production is limited to 300 cases of Deluge, a Cabernet Sauvignon - Cabernet Franc, Bordeaux-style blend. We ferment in small, wide, jacketed stainless steel tanks, and conserve the wine in exclusively new French oak barriques. Our objective is to consistently make the highest quality, highly concentrated, and well structured wines - capable of, and deserving long-term cellaring. The winery is named after Glacial Lake Missoula, a massive Ice-Age lake whose titanic floods (15,000 - 11,000 B.C.) scoured Eastern Washington's desolate basalt plateau, and deposited rich alluvial deposits into the valleys of most of the Pacific Northwest's best wine-growing regions.
